Synopsis: A discussional film dramatizing the problem of a young girl who
feels that she is rejected by her school group. It points the way for a dis-
cussion of the mutual responsibilities of the individual and the group in
such situations.

The girl, a teen-ager, feels that she is not liked by others in her class.
She overhears part of a conversation between several girls about not in-
viting one of the disliked teachers to act as a chaperon at their party, and
she thinks they are talking about her. Later when one of the girls calls
to invite her to the party, she thinks that she is being invited because the
others feel sorry for her, and refuses to go. One of the girls calls on her
at her home and the situation is straightened out. B W 1951
Social guidance attitudes film for adolescent children. Susan
Jane Smith, a cute, normal yet laconic girl, doesn’t fit in with
the rest of the gang at her junior high school. In the classroom,
in the school hallway, and at the local soda shop delicatessen
hangout, the other kids tend to benignly ignore Susan Jane. She
feels left behind and alone, and walks around sadly with an air of
low self-esteem, while the gang eagerly plans an exclusive Friday
night party. One girl in the clique decides to reach out to the
lonely girl though, and invites her to the party. Terrible acting

Midwestern accents
requisite fat kid in the clique. Very poor
image quality. (NOTE: “Susan Jane” is the same young actress who
memorably portrayed Sara “the snob”, in 1958′s ‘The Snob’,
AFP-52G).
